After deadly terrorists abduct his niece at a soccer match, an ex-soldier with lethal fighting skills wages a one-man war to save her and prevent mass destruction.
When I saw Final Score was coming straight to DVD I thought it will probably be rubbish but I loved Dave Bautista in Guardians of the Galaxy. I couldn't have been more wrong. Not about my love for Dave but Final Score being rubbish. Just to clarify.

Michael Knox is a broken man. After losing his brother in an overseas combat zone, he moves from one foreign conflict to another only returning to London to look in on his brothers teenage niece Danni. On one such trip he takes Danni to a football game, but unbeknownst to them some Russian anarchists have rigged the stadium with explosives and will set them off if their former leader, who is somewhere in the massive crowd, is not returned to them.

Final Score knows exactly what kind of movie it is. It's a no holds barred action film. And its really really good.

The story is what you'd expect from an action flick but instead of making impossible plot leaps or being overly cheesy, Final Score's story makes sense with no implausible narrative or character leaps. Of course there are a couple of moments when certain characters shouldn't have survived a sequence, but thats all in the fun of an action movie.

And the action is relentlessly realistic. Bautista's Knox is punched, stabbed, and is face planted into a hot grill. Even though he's an utter unit, he's not portrayed as invincible. He gets pretty messed up.

There are shoot outs, shoot outs at helicopters, knife fights, motor bike chases, and someone gets their face deep fried in a vat of boiling oil. Very Spooks of them.

The whole cast are a joy wonderfully led by Bautista. If I heard there was an action film with him in the lead role after Final Score I would definitely be buying a ticket.

The action movie you've been waiting for. With a riveting story and non stop action, Final Score will be your new guilty pleasure.
